A quick note tonight, Tuesday. We are all very tired after a hot day of moving a lot of what used to be a house. And there is a long way to go, though we have certainly made progress. The new site looks like a tornado obliterated the house but didn’t take ANYTHING away! We have found clothing, old textbooks and pay stubs from the 70’s, and lots and lots of wood and cinderblock and siding and parts of tables and cabinets… and it is only in looking at the “before” pictures that we feel like we have made even a dent in the pile! We will be there all week, and we feel that if we do not finish the job it will only be because they can’t get a dump truck back and forth fast enough to do any more than four loads a day (and we only get one dump truck helping us out).

We are now near the rehab house, where a small part of our group is still doing spray insulation, with a machine that gets thoroughly clogged and has to be unclogged on a regular basis. Todd also got down under the house today with the crew leader, Johnny to put up insulation under the house. Their big concern for tomorrow is that a large portion of the crawl space only has about 18 inches of space, which really is not big enough to both crawl in AND do work in.

Tonight we went into downtown Neon to watch Dock & Clyde give their show on the downtown stage (yep, that’s about as fancy as you might imagine). After Dock & Clyde, we headed into Whitesburg for ice cream at the DQ. We know Trevor’s big brother missed being with us for that!

Almost everybody is already headed towards bed and ready to sleep.
